Seems to me that the latest Flaming Lips album, YOSHIMI BATTLES THE PINK ROBOTS would serve this need handily.

Portishead is GREAT if you are on downers, Mr. Noodles! Me and my Ativan love dat der album!

Alex in SF (Alex in SF), Thursday, 3 October 2002 00:25 (twenty-three years ago)

I can't believe you dudes listen to Neu! when you're fucked up. I would die of boredom. Don't you go, like, apeshit after 5 minutes and yell "No, this sucks! Change it! Change it!"

I miss ativan :(

geeta (geeta), Thursday, 3 October 2002 01:19 (twenty-three years ago)

these depend on the drug, but I've enjoyed these in addition to some of the ones already listed:

Kyuss- Sky Valley
Orb- Orbus Terrarum, also Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld
Ghost Dog score
DJ Shadow & Cut Chemist- Brainfreeze
Company Flow- Little johnny from the Hozpital

Tony V, Friday, 4 October 2002 15:04 (twenty-three years ago)

A Northern Soul - The Verve. And Blonde on Blonde is a good excuse to get drunk.

Roger Fascist (Roger Fascist), Friday, 4 October 2002 15:23 (twenty-three years ago)

ween – "the mollusk" and monster magnet – "dopes to infinity"

dyson (dyson), Friday, 4 October 2002 16:22 (twenty-three years ago)

Dettinger Oasis
Tim Hecker Haunt Me Haunt Me Do It Again
Marumari Wolves Hollow

& most recently, I've gained a whole new appreciation for Fontanelle's self-titled debut album.

Curt (cgould), Friday, 4 October 2002 18:22 (twenty-three years ago)

I agree with Rimbaud's list, yet I still think Neu's first album is better (and more psycadelic/tripped out/better to take drugs too) than Neu 75. 13th Floor Elevators - true.
Miles Davis - Bitch's Brew - true

Rob McD, Tuesday, 8 October 2002 02:41 (twenty-two years ago)

Oh yea, and Geeta (guy who thinks Neu! is boring and shit), I'm not a speedhead, and to my stoned ears the music of Neu! is beatiful and serene. The smooth soothings of marijuana truly open my ears to sounds that lie inside the music that I normally cannot hear. I listen to it over and over again and never get bored. Its new every time I listen to it.

Oh, and like...you suck, not Neu!

Rob McD, Tuesday, 8 October 2002 02:47 (twenty-two years ago)

Haha my wacky pothead bruvva!

Keith McD (Keith McD), Friday, 11 October 2002 13:46 (twenty-two years ago)

Three words.

OVAL - "DO WHILE"

Keith McD (Keith McD), Friday, 11 October 2002 13:46 (twenty-two years ago)

two months pass...
'Moments' by Lull drags you dowwwwwn through the innards of a buzzing fridge the size of a planet... marvelous. Screw 'Cold Summer' though.
