Prompted by hearing "Wild Flowers" on shuffle this morning, led to giving the proper album another listen, which is pretty great. Mike Johnson is quite talented in his support on this.

six years pass...

The Winding Sheet is 29 years old today.

Saw him 2 years after it was released and had a beer with him and Van Conner. At the time he was very reticent of fame (this was right around the time grunge was beginning to hit the mainstream). Told him this was an incredible record and he said that it hadn't sold shit. Probably still hasn't.

Listening to this now on Spotify, it looks like he's got a new album due this year called Straight Songs of Sorrow? Anyway this is a great album for after five beers and an apocalyptic crying jag, a friend tells me.
