the slomo house / mark e / revenge thread
Motor city drum ensemble comes to mind. Slicked up early Parrish/moodymannish with all idiosyncrasies minimized. Str8 functional

haha otm, i still love him tho. wasn't he like 19 or something when he did those raw edits?
so many tracks make me think this tbh. i'm blanking on what exactly at the moment though.

real and raw, more like stretch and yawn imo.
really though he doesn't do much for me. i like the sound design but i don't detect much in the way of interesting development and the melodic elements such as they are .. idk i find it all very rote.

hmmm tbh that track is just a dj tool. house can't get more beautifully subtle than this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkV3bIQ2pa0

but this thread should be about the stuff that we do like that p*pecock was supposedly dismissing, huh.
idk, it seems to me like t.p. is pretty singular and most slower deeper left-field dance music isn't trying to carbon copy his stuff exactly, maybe it's taking a cue from a verbal description of his stuff as a general direction. and you know, some of it's better than others.
xp oh i like that much more, thank you

this thread should be about stuff that sounds like an exact carbon copy of THEO PARRISH not MOODYMANN
i want the dusty, clunky, chunky basement funk

i think that gerry read sounds like a carbon copy of theo and i quite like it, so looking for more carbon copies
MCDE and moodymanc are a good carbon copies of moodymann, what about theo?

yeah, stl you could easily mistake this for theo: http://www.rushhour.nl/store_detailed.php?item=68666. not that there's anything wrong with that.
