ok, i admit it... summarily dismissing pink floyd on the grounds of, er, their being pink floyd, was stupid (i did know this at the time, but still.)... it turns out that this song i like on the air breezeblock mix is none other than pink floyd's 'the nile song'.

i also used to think that 'regulate' sucked. that was very wrong!

what have you been wrong about?

"They'll never bring the first Suicide album out on CD" (said when abt all you cld get on CD was 'Brothers In Arms')

I'm often wrong abt things - I like changing my mind. Two that spring to mind - Kelis and Bernhard Gunter (not a pairing you see every day!)

Well I still hate the song "Days Go By" by Dirty Vegas but I now love the video, I saw it this morning, the whole idea of the guy in it "dancing until she comes back" is pretty cool, I found it kind of touching, for 12 in the morning anyway.

Only a little while ago, I unsolicitedly informed a friend that "The Flaming Lips fuckin' SUCK!" I was wrong about that.

I always hated "Hello It's Me" because I thought it was Carol King. Then I found out it's Todd Rundgren and now I think the song is fantastic. Does that count?

I was sure that Cyndu Lauper would still be around now, while Madonna was back in Michigan waiting tables.

donut bitch (donut), Wednesday, 2 October 2002 18:25 (twenty-three years ago)

I'm wrong about everything

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 2 October 2002 21:34 (twenty-three years ago)

Mike Skinner - I thought "Has It Come To This" was fucking dreadful for ages. Then I heard "Let's Push Things Forward", and then Original Pirate Material and realised what a fool I'd been. The fact that the b-side of his new single is called "Give Me My Lighter Back" only serves to ram the point home still further - and I've not even heard it...

Charlie (Charlie), Wednesday, 2 October 2002 22:15 (twenty-three years ago)

oh, and somehow I dismissed Pulp's "Babies" out of hand back in 1993, but I still can't explain how that happened. Thus, I missed out on a full 8 extra months of obsession...tcha.

Charlie (Charlie), Wednesday, 2 October 2002 22:19 (twenty-three years ago)

Kim is apparently John Wesley Harding.

Sean Carruthers (SeanC), Wednesday, 2 October 2002 22:28 (twenty-three years ago)

Damn. You're way too good at this.

Kim (Kim), Wednesday, 2 October 2002 22:52 (twenty-three years ago)

Hmmm...Kim, have I met you at the record store I used to work at? Just checking.

I've been wrong about:
*Michael Bolton (for about ten minutes when I was thirteen I thought he was the epitome of soul...Jeeezus)
*Buddy Holly's "Not Fade Away" being better than the Rolling Stones' (though not the Grateful Dead's)
*Tango being the new salsa in 1999 (it wasn't)

And more!

M Matos (M Matos), Wednesday, 2 October 2002 23:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Matos,
This means . . . you prefer the Stones' "Not Fade Away" to Buddy Holly's?? You make me sad . . .

"Oh, [x] record won't go out of print for a while, I'll get it later...."

electric sound of jim (electricsound), Thursday, 3 October 2002 05:37 (twenty-three years ago)

Lots of things. Most recently the Beatles!

Tom (Groke), Thursday, 3 October 2002 07:21 (twenty-three years ago)

"Oh, [x] record won't be appearing in the bargain bins reduced to a fraction of it's current price for a while, I'll get it now...."
