What I saw today at the record store (it was sad).

Somebody had filed all of the Barenaked Ladies cds in the Bark Psychosis section. It was probably an honest mistake, since their sections are adjacent to each other. Still, that didn't soften the blow. Like I said, it was sad.

philistines!

the saddest/funniest error I saw at a record store was a copy of Prefab Sprout's Steve Mcqueen album filed under the artist name "Mcqueen, Steve". the store also had a proper Prefab Sprout section (with a copy of Two Wheels Good), but it was spelled "Prefap Sprout on the handwritten sign.

Unless it was a Canadian business, I don't see why any record store would be stocking BNL anymore.

x-post

scott seward, Sunday, 3 March 2013 01:00 (twelve years ago)

i can imagine stores with both bnl and bark psychosis sections, it's having both that sounds one-of-a-kind to me.

Gunoka Cuntles (Matt P), Sunday, 3 March 2013 01:12 (twelve years ago)

tbr i could imagine this happening at our local chain of used cd stores.

Gunoka Cuntles (Matt P), Sunday, 3 March 2013 01:13 (twelve years ago)

That's where I saw this!

henry s, Sunday, 3 March 2013 04:08 (twelve years ago)

that's where I bought Hex! but it was an uncool suburban Newbury Comics, so Bark Psychosis didn't even get it's own section (it was sad).

i went to an awesome newbury in the sticks last year that had tons of used vinyl. they even let me look at boxes of vinyl in the back room!! i couldn't believe it. i spent hours there and the last time i spent serious time at a newbury was at the OG store in like 1983.

unprepared guitar (Edward III), Sunday, 3 March 2013 15:31 (twelve years ago)

a guy who comes into my store told me about it. it was good timing on my part. they had gotten in, like, 20 or 30 boxes of unopened rounder records distro stock from the 80's. that's why the manager let me look in back cuz there were 10 boxes that hadn't been put out yet. he offered too, i didn't say a thing. he was very nice. but i was so surprised by how much vinyl they had. the whole back of a huge store devoted to it. a huuuuuuuge ikea-like wall of cheap stuff. tons of dollar stuff. and big rock and r&b and jazz section. gotta go there again soon.
