Anyone else digging this? A friend tipped me off yesterday, and I've played it through three times already. Lush strings and piano with vocals in a slightly-deeper-than-Antony range. The song above is the early favorite, but the album as a whole is lovely.

He's a music video director (asides his own he has directed videos for Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and Lana del Rey).

I find his music so-so but the videos are amazing, specially the Iron one.

seven months pass...

This is a really good winter album. There's an "indie classical" vibe to the grand orchestral arrangements but there's choruses galore and it reminds me a lot of When Saints Go Machine's Konkylie which got a fair bit of traction here.

seven years pass...

And eight years later ... new album S16 coming soon. The Discover music site lists international and deluxe cd versions, but with the same tracklisting, so not sure of the difference.

Or maybe just vinyl version of last year's release that flew under my 2020 radar. Anyhow...

There was a memorable moment in S1 of The Umbrella Academy when Run Boy Run kicks in, hadn't really given the album much time until that nudged me.
Its a very lush sounding album.
