Been listening to the Blues Control/Laraaji and the Borden/Ferraro/Godin/Halo & Lopatin records lately and liking them a lot. What else is good from this series, and from this label in general?

big fan of the ikue mori / julianna barwick collab, which is a good bit more out-there than jb's solo stuff.

sun araw with geddes gengras and the congos was a big favourite of mine last year, very stoned and psychedelic music built on slow reggae rhythms wih some very gorgeous singing from the congos

the franco falsini comp on rvng is really good if you want some nice flowing italian cosmic prog

i really do not like Herndon at all...don't get the hype on her. Other good stuff on the label is the Harald Grosskopf reissue (contains a CD of contemporary artists covering/paying tribute - usual suspects like OPN, Stellar Om Source, James Ferraro, etc. - that is quite good). I'm also a big fan of Blondes, who did a 12" series and album on the label...they hit the right note of dancey/accessible and out-there as far as synth revival stuff goes. If you can't get enough Falsini (and who can?!) there is a pro-spec reissue of the Cold Nose record on Mego from last year that's really worth separate investment IMO.

What's the mix series like? I only heard the Justine D one, which I remembered really loving, but haven't heard anything else.

I have Sweeney (#3), Simonetti/Selzer (#4) and JD Twitch' 60 Minutes of Fear (#6, incl. the 10") - they're all great to awesome.
Love the label but shipping has become too expensive for me, of the 12" series I've only gotten the Flying Squad and Betty Botox releases :(

I'm partial to the Crazy Rhythms mix, which can be downloaded and heard here:

but don't tell RVNG.

Also dig the Mirror Mirror mix by Rico of the Lines, and not just because I supplied the hook-up.

two months pass...

Saw Stellar OM Source last night, she's great live. Lotsa early Warp vibes.

The new Stellar Om Source record is really good. It's very different from her previous stuff, and took me a bit to get acquainted to the shift in style, but I've been returning to it and really digging.

one year passes...

Surprised there's just short of zero mention of Bing and Ruth's Tomorrow was the Golden Age on ILM. Like a more glimmery Stars of the Lid, real nice.

they've had a bunch of really solid releases this year imo - 'we know each other somehow' has been a particular standout for me
