The followup to POLLin' My Head Above Water: "Private Eyes" by Hall & Oates and inspired by the recent, painstakingly trolled activity on defend the indefensible: Hall and Oates ! This is the predecessor to "Private Eyes" and arguably works over the same sonic territory with slightly quirkier material ("Italian Girls," "United State," "Africa"). As before, I expect the huge singles ("Kiss On My List"! "You Make My Dreams"! "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'"!) to take this... but there are great album tracks here. "Diddy Doo Wop" is just a beast, one of the period's best "ode to the soul-stirring power of the music of my youth" type songs. (At the very least, it obviates at least half of An Innocent Man.)
