If there's anything I've learned from playing Songpop on Facebook, it's that I paid zero attention this genre for at least the past 13-15 years.

not 2013 but 2011, but i was listening to the rock radio stations in vegas last weekend and heard this song, which is actually pretty okay, which surprised me because i have felt hatred for seether since high school

how long until this song is in literally ever movie trailer? (i don't pay attn to movies or watch tv so for all i know this may have already happened)

The Neighborhood's "Sweater Weather" and Muse's "Panic Station" are my favorites so far this year. Atlas Genius's new one better than their first hit also.

oi, modern rock listeners:

i never listen to modern rock radio anymore, so i have no idea about this. on the harder end of modern rock programming, would vocals like this (the hoarse growling ones, not the sung ones)

place the music as 'abrasive' or relatively normal? they seem pretty polite to me but a lot of the sounds here are otherwise kind of modern-rock-ready (snare sound, sung vocals, anthemic dynamics)

xps OH! So that's what Capital Cities sounds like. I have a friend who talks about them a lot, and now I know I shouldn't listen to her anymore.

Capital Cities just entered the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 this week. Why are they considered alt rock again? They just sound like pure dance pop to me. Have you heard their covers of "Nothing Compares 2 U" an "Holiday" ?

Well I never quite understood how Sinead O Connor's Nothing Compares 2U was alt rock either.
