^^^^ all of these are impeccable but if I have to I'll give a slight edge to "This Kiss", which is truly flawless. Esp. the way the beat brings in the little hi-hat tic on the off-beat on "and she's a real sweet girl..."

The slap bass riffs on Tiny Little Bows, String/Ring and Drive are perfect. Those are my three favorite at the mo. Everything on this album is perfectly placed.

I like the Bieber colab alright now too. It's a little Jason Mraz/Colbie Callet but whatever. Only one that needs skippin is the Owl City one.

the drop into the second chorus is just one of those incredible right-at-the-top-of-your-head pop rushes

next "hurt so good", melody for dayyyys and that amazing synth chug underpinning it

lol when I heard "This Kiss" (briefly) on the radio last fall, I thought, "Damn, this is as good as that Carly Rae Jepsen single."

I'll actually listen to this again tonight to figure out, but it's def between "Tiny Little Bows", "Curiosity", "This Kiss", and "Guitar String/Wedding Ring".

I Know You Have A Girlfriend would be my top pick, but its not on all the editions, and Drive after that. Of the proper original album tracks, This Kiss and Hurt So Good are about equal in my mind.

this album is really whatever to me and i don't understand the praise for it, doesn't do much outright wrong but very little about it ever sticks with me

but that is crazy

i mean aside from "beautiful" i think it hangs totally hangs together as an album, it even has like traditional album beats, "curiosity" ascending coyly from "call me maybe," the whole "turn me up" / "hurt so good" transition is like one song improving/illuminating the other

what i don't get is all the hate for "good time." owl city is pretty lame, but carly's contribution to that song is incredible! the verse where she drops her phone in the pool is one of my favourite moments of the album.

"What's up with this Prince song inside my head?" says a guy who has no business EVER referencing Prince.

But really, the presence of the Owl City guy on anything is a deal breaker for me. His voice just makes me itch.

carly's delivery on "good time" is exquisite and eventually charmed me to the whole song

owl city dude still sounds like a reconstituted ben gibbard, after a mangling

So much of this album is impeccable but it's between Drive, Sweetie and Tiny Little Bows.

idk if i'd pick it over 'this kiss' or 'hurts so good' (or, or.. ) but i'm guessing 'wrong feels so right' is being mad underrated. with your sneaky eyes!

i think what killed this album for me is the comparison that somebody made in the other CRJ threads between this album and marit larsen

it is a relief from the relentlessness of the rest of the album. its not her strength, but honestly as an album i wouldn't have minded a bit more in its vein.

I went with "I Know You Have a Girlfriend" mostly because I thought it wasn't the consensus pick and I love it - it's not the ALBUM but it's great.

Could have easily picked most other songs, but especially

Drive (which again isn't like the rest of the album though, so.)
Sweetie (bonus track but so wonderful)

Turn Me Up and Tiny Little Bows are my two favourites off the album proper or whatever?
Curiosity is great but still feels like part of that initial Curiosity EP even in the new guise with all of the BOSH.

but this is all still v. v. great.

there's just something about the shrill strident faux 80s openings of a lot of songs like "This Kiss" and "Hurt So Good" that turns me off pretty quickly, at least "Heart" isn't quite as painful on the ears. i mean that kinda thing could work, if she had any personality whatsoever.

FWIW, I have completely come around to everything on this album aside from "Good Time" since I knocked this record itt a few months back.

the new single is okay.

The synth hook in "This Kiss" comes to mind a couple times a week.

they way her voice cuts up and becomes like extra percussion in the bridge of "this kiss" is exquisite

also those dry guitar chords at the end of the synth hook
