Heard The Sun Always Shines On TV in the uni supermarket (Yeeeeah, right) today, and realised I always meant to investigate them further yet never did. Any suggestions?

The Yeeeeah, right bit refers to the uni supermarket's 'super' status, by the way.

Listen to 'Scoundrel Days', their second album. Nearly every song is stunning. Their first album is pretty good too. After that, though they have their moments, they grow up too quickly in a bad way.

Just a minute Eyeball Kicks!!! The last 2 albums (minor earth major sky (2000) and lifetimes (2002)) weren't that bad. I don't say that A-ha is a great band (it is not by the way) but at least we can say that some of their last songs are some really enjoyable tunes. And they are still better than most of the crap that is in the charts today.

Preposterously melodramatic synth pop with fantastic tunes and groundbreaking videos sung by a superman versus some really enjoyable tunes sung by an ex-Eurovision presenter.

And they are still better than most of the crap that is in the charts today.

Aye.
