Sister Double Happiness - C/D?

Saw these guys at a tiny shithole in Tijuana, Mexico opening for Hole and Nirvana back in the day and I'd heard a few songs by the Dicks which ruled but the whole Sister Double Happiness "grunge-blues" format felt pretty contrarian at the time...

How was Father Time and the critical consensus treated the legacy of the band that bridged the span between The Dicks and Imperial Teen?

They may possibly be the most obscure band to release albums on SST and Sub Pop during both's glory periods, then jump to a major.

i don't think there is a critical consensus. they were low profile in their moment and seem to have been forgotten. tbh, i was never a fan of what little i heard (their SST lp and the first single they cut for sub pop).

good live band?

Saw them once, don't remember a thing about it, they were overshadowed by support band Dead Moon anyway. The end.

"Dicks Hate (The) Police" obvs unfuckwithable but I had/have a harder time reconciling with SDH's legacy, who were so hit/miss and forgotten even here in their hometown.
