As soon as I saw the interview I wondered how quickly "guy whose charisma, humour and willingness to do the right thing provided the only ray of light in an otherwise horrific news story" would turn into "lol poor black guy talks funny".

it was memed to absolutely infinity and that in itself is kind of annoying to me, just the sense of every day having a different meme.

but i don't think it was all necessarily "lol he talks funny" - a lot of people prob meant it in good spirits and as a celebration of the guy's clear charisma and sharpness, but they just aren't familiar with his manner. it is a bit homer simpson "their clothes are different from my clothes" i guess.

i would say personally i saw it posted in ways that suggested the person thought (a) and ways that suggested the person thought (b), that's all.
