My neighbour who is a huge Crimson fan saw that they were playing gigs and wants me to go to finally break down my Fripp/Crimson/Prog defences and see the light... Who/what/where/when am i gonna be letting myself in for?!

They are a band mostly comprised of ex-King Crimson musicians: Michael Giles (drums) and Ian McDonald (woodwinds, keyboards), who were original members in the first line-up; Peter Giles (bass), who was in the band briefly after the first line-up fell apart; Mel Collins (woodwinds), who was in the Islands-era line-up; and Jakko Jacksyk (guitar), the only non-member, but has played with a lot of Canterbury-genre musicians who are closely related to King Crimson.

I think they mostly play old King Crimson songs, particularly from the albums IN THE COURT OF THE CRIMSON KING, WAKE OF POSEIDON, and ISLANDS. From what I've heard, they're pretty good live. How can you not like a quintet with 2 sax players? :)

"Peter Giles (bass), who was in the band briefly after the first line-up fell apart".

Peter Giles was also in the pre-Crimson outfit Giles Giles & Fripp with his brother Michael and Robert Fripp who apparently never played live but released one album called The Cheerful Insanity Of Giles Giles & Fripp.
