Keep in mind i didn't say a bad love song just corny...and in a good way too.
I heard "Tonight I Celebrate my love" with him singing with Roberta Flack and man that is one syrupy, corny love song. However some will claim "A Whole New World" with Regina Belle takes the cake. I mean it's written for a Disney cartoon that is a mutilation of an old tale.

i was young enough when "tonight" was in the charts that "when i make love to you....... tonight" actually wasn't skin-crawlingly awful, and i actually liked the song; i liked everything that was in the charts back then: solid as a rock, billy ocean, phil collins. when my relatives in georgia asked me what kind of music i liked i said "rock. but soft rock, not hard rock."

No spot for "Beauty and the Beast" with Celine Dion?

MarkoP, Wednesday, 12 June 2013 14:54 (twelve years ago)

Celine Dion was actually much more tolerable to listen to. It was ironically more sophisticated than Whole New World. Somewhere Out There had James Ingram who is 10 times better vocalist than Peabo. SO the two stays.

I used to work in a toyshop a few summers back. All day every day I had to listen to Disney compilations lovingly assembled by one of my colleagues. The only song that I didn't hate was 'Beauty in the Beast' - fuck, that melody is too good.

Gotta be Tonight. Disney songs are corny, but that's like the point. Tonight is like let's write a corny song even tho we don't even have to.

Whole New World is all time classic, but the better version is the one performed by the actors, and it's less corny, although still corny and lovingly over-emoted.
