What does it say about me that I mostly fall for dubstep only at its most resolutely, consummately middlebrow?

Author do not seem to have any purpose other than to flaunt as immaculate production values as humanly possible. Much of the time this stuff sounds like a series of dubstep remixes of Tomasz Stanko's theme music for Homeland. I love it, for that, and for how it frequently comes on like a more noir-ish Silkie, and more broadly recalls the grand tradition of widescreen lustrous coffee table brilliances of MJ Cole and Roni Size/Reprazent at their respective best (the "Y2K Dub" of "Sincere" and disc 2 of New Forms, respectively).

Who would have guessed that in 2013 I would be starting tumbleweed threads about dubstep albums?

Time makes fools of us all.

really don't care for the vocals on this at all.

The raps you mean?

They feel kind of like some drafted in late 90s/earlyu 00s thing which is inessential but also ignorable.

I haven't heard it yet, but I thought their last album was decent, especially 'the mothership'. Saw a very strange vid a few weeks ago, a collaboration with some sort of metal band. Wasn't sure if I liked that so much.
