Article Response: Heartbreaks

I think it's GRATE to have something to read again in the morning... but enough fan mail already, i must disagree with yr conscience saying "But rejecting indie adolescence needn't mean embracing Steve Earle! Why not write about jazz, or electronica, or modern composition?" - because these are just different kinds of adolescence. JAZZ especially was surely the PUNK of its day, and appears to be about little more than wanting to get a shag by looking sophisticated and/or rythmical (hem hem), instead of wanting to get a shag by looking sad (indie), clever (modern composition) or Technically Adept (electronica).

Might i suggest, then, that the reason there is so little actual genuine adult music is that adults, by and large, probably _are_ shagging, and so don't really need to show off as much? I mean, it'd be GRATE if finally we _did_ get Music To Dance AND Think To, but who'd want to bother? Why keep revising when the exams are over?

Oh, and the D&C incident was ACE too - same happened to me with The Cuban Boys the other week, but i just felt embarrassed rather than RIGHTEOUS. Next time tho...
