What music is good for playing, quietly ish, so as not to aggravate the neighbours, in your garden? Especially, obviously, on a hot summer evening.

I really like soft, glitchy electronic music outdoors in the summer -- it kind of blends well with natural sounds.

I actually put Kaputt by the CD player when I put the speakers at the window cos I thought it would work.

gordon's garden party goes down a treat. I find the neighbours like it if you turn it up a bit.

surely the only correct answers are either a ragga/dancehall hits compilation or that 4hr 100% pure garage mix

Edinburgh has been bathed in sunshine over the past few weeks and I've spent as much time as possible out in the back garden doing exactly this. I'll second 'Kaputt' which provided a great backdrop to last Sunday's bbq.
Mainly I've been blasting;
Lots of stuff applicable to the 'Wistful, Guitar Pop' thread i.e The new Ducktails LP/Both Real Estate albumsWild Nothing, in particular the new EPMac Demarco
Electronic stuff;Memory Tapes - Seek MagicCaribou (though Swim needs a decent speaker, sounds dreadful through the aux connection of my mono DAB)Cut Copy
I'll think of some more later on and would welcome suggestions myself.

Rocky Bottom sounds pretty good now. But I get told my taste in music is pretty depressing often, so - maybe this isn't right?
