The snipes at Black Sabbath's 13 continue, such as this recent gem from MetalSucks -- "Black Sabbath fans have been left with two choices. We can either a) keep complaining about the overhyped pile of slightly-above-satisfactory riffs and embarrassing lyrics that is 13, or b) we can embrace the great onslaught of today’s Sabbath-worshipping bands who are doing early Sabbath better than Sabbath currently are..." I still don't understand what people expected from Sabbath, that they surpass Vol. 4? I've been listening to a playlist of the albums below, and it seems a more appropriate context and benchmark to measure 13 by. It seems nearly every traditional doom band has put out something recently except for The Obsessed. So which will actually come out on top?
