The kid who used to sit next to me in science used to recite that song in deadpan fashion pretty much every week.

"Semi-Charmed Life" was, like, their worst single. Get "Losing a Whole Year" and "Never Let You Go".

(DJ Martian's definition of "infectiously giddy" is really, really odd. Cool song, though.)

Dan Perry (Dan Perry), Thursday, 10 October 2002 20:23 (twenty-three years ago)

Not sure I'd call "the Cutter" by the Bunnymen "infeciously giddy".

Alex in NYC (vassifer), Friday, 11 October 2002 03:45 (twenty-three years ago)

Yeah, you're right Alex, but i'll come on back with Kinky Friedman & the Texas Jewboys' Schwinn 24.

honk, honk!

christoff (christoff), Friday, 11 October 2002 16:22 (twenty-three years ago)

OK Go!, Dan. You want OK Go! Don't fuck around w/ D/Ling MP3s - just scoot over to Newbury Comics or Tower. Their disc is probably only $9.99 or something. If you can't find that, go get Veruca Salt's _Eight Arms To Hold You_. (Or D/L "Awesome" from that very album, if you can't get away from the PC.) If that doesn't work, try that dog.'s _Retreat From The Sun_ (D/L "Gagged & Tied" or "Retreat From The Sun" or "Never Say Never"). The Anna Waronker album is damn good, too, but the song recommended above is one of the weaker tracks - you'd want "Hollow Daze".

Sweet lord, did I see someone actually recommend Xiu Xiu? Or is this a rejiggered Xiu Xiu, swapping clausterphobic atmosphere and tortured bleating for paisley wall hangings, a clean bong, and lots of "ba ba ba"s? (Apologies if I'm taking DJ Martian's suggestion too seriously - he doesn't strike me as the type of chap to be that blatantly cheeky.)

David R. (popshots75`), Friday, 11 October 2002 16:55 (twenty-three years ago)

get all 3 Holiday albums
