What can you tell me about this band? Alls i got so far is that they're probably Australian, most likely from the 60s, had a self-titled album on Festival, and do a goshdarned lovely cover of 'Friday's Child'.

Reknown for their musicianship this was one of Sydney's top bands. They toured the States in 1968, but still had a lot of chart success back home in Australia. Their style had a lot to do with The Mamas and Papas and they did a medley of their songs on one of their albums. Curiously there are a couple of the same tracks on their first and second albums.

They returned to the States the following year and changed their name to Inner Sense, having got intertwined in psychedelia, though they broke up soon after. In retrospect, their weakness was that they wrote precious few originals - relying almost entirely on cover versions. They reformed in 1974 (line-up D) as The Executives, releasing three 45s for Polydor.

Their third album Now included the superb Moving In A Circle, which combined some delicious vocals from Australian Carole King (who sounds like an Aussie Sonja Kristina) with psychedelic sound effects. Consequently it is one of the stand out tracks on Psychedelia, Vol. Two.

Brian Patterson had earlier been with The Bluebeats and The Blue Jays, whilst Ray Burton and Gino Cunnico had been in The Gino Affair.

My Aim Is To Please You can also be found on Australia's Top Talent, Decade Of Australian Hits and Rock Rock Rock. Other songs of their compiled are Bad Reputation on Kicks, Wander Boy on So You Want To Be A Rock And Roll Star, Vol. 1 and So You Want To Be A Rock 'n' Roll Star (3-CD); and Windy Day on Hits Aussie Style.

Actually using the innernet for research and information gathering purposes? What a concept, i may have to try it some time!

There're some rocking moments on the LP, also some cloying psychedelia-bandwagon-jumping and even a spot of lounge stylez but on the whole i'm enjoying it a lot...& finally i have something to put on yr next mixtape. Bling.
