Classic Seattle (& environs) alternative

I'm starting this thread because I lived in Olympia, WA from 90-95 and I have fond memories of the music played on alternative radio at the time. I recently dug out an old tape I dubbed off the radio, and on it was 'Solar Sister' by The Posies, A Bellingham, WA band.

I know grunge was the thing at the time, but I always preferred this more power-poppy stuff, and stuff like Beat Happening. So I guess I'm trying to get a list going of bands/albums/songs from the Pacific Northwest, from that late 80s-early 90s time period, that helped craft that sound of the time.

Just played Love Battery's DayGlo this afternoon. It's semi-grungy, I guess, but with a real pop-sense. And great too!

The Posies were so great, i loved the way they had this power pop/college rock pedigree but their drummer was a Bonhamesque monster and the sound of the other bands in the area kinda spurred them to get louder and faster without abandoning the harmonies and tunefulness and then their biggest album was produced by Don Fleming and had some of that seasick guitar squall to it.
