Kind of need a thread for this guy for all the many long-storied phases of his career, although his 1950's radio collage show & electronic music & image experiments at the Morrison are perhaps what I'm trying to learn the most about. Whenever I hear those pieces, read those program notes, then catch the year, I can't quite imagine the reception -- he was so early

the man moved on last friday.

was always hoping I'd somehow meet someone who knew him and get to make a trip to mill valley before then, but you can't meet every hero

Very sorry to hear this. Never met the great man, either, but was pleased to be able to shine some attention his way a couple of times in Arthur. One of a kind life/career.

few people keep such a low profile while simultaneously being near the source of so much we take for granted, but imagine west coast electronic music & the san francisco tape music center without this guy putting together Vortex bills like that one above in 1958
