wait what is objectionable about "can't hold us"? granted i haven't heard more than 10 consecutive seconds of it before changing the station but still

dyl, Monday, 30 September 2013 17:41 (twelve years ago)

same with "holy grail" for that matter. maybe i will argue that that is the most harmful to society simply by being a shit song

dyl, Monday, 30 September 2013 17:42 (twelve years ago)

"Holy Grail" is the most perplexing hit of the year imo. It's easy to see the appeal of most hits—a song is catchy or fun, or it speaks to something listeners want or an experience they've shared—but the appeal of this one completely eludes me. What is it about this song that resonates with people? How is this a huge hit?

Evan R, Monday, 30 September 2013 17:54 (twelve years ago)

Still haven't heard Holy Grail or any of that Jay-Z album

monotony, Monday, 30 September 2013 19:16 (twelve years ago)

"Holy Grail" is fully driven by starpower I guess, although if you deleted Justin's parts it would be a decent later Jay track.

dunno why "holy grail" is in this poll, it's obviously a hit but it doesn't feel like a phenomenon of note in the way the others do

the other three just make me long for the days of video games vs 212 vs gucci gucci

Holy grail is famous because jay z and timberlake are famous, no need to overanalyze.
