My Dad used to buy the Independent when I was a kind and I found Peter Blegvad's Leviathan strip incredibly disturbing.

Does Mark Mothersbaugh from Devo count? He does cartoons but not actual comic strips as far as I know.

Whoops, I messed up on April March, she's technically an "animation artist" not a "comic artist".

KIm Salmon of Scientists fame draws a lot like Arturo Vega.
I saw some of his artwork when he was living in London. Maybe taht stuff was specifically done in that style and he has another style more personally his though.

I had never seen this strip by Peter Blegvad before tonight, I'm guessing a lot of people may not have as it appeared in dreadful UK right wing magazine Standpoint:

Does Mark Mothersbaugh from Devo count? He does cartoons but not actual comic strips as far as I know.

Pretty sure he was heavily involved with the Subgenius guys for a while, and some of the books have things attributed to pseudonyms that could be him/DEVO.

Emperor Cos Dashit (Adam Bruneau), Thursday, 9 January 2014 21:58 (eleven years ago)

Maybe not heavily involved but at least in/near the same mindset.
