florida breaks queen. aside from a bit of dynamix ii and so forth, plays what folks in the us call "funky breaks" or even "florida breaks" - generally written off as shallow formulaic stuff, because, well, a lot of it is. looped breakbeat + kraftwerk sample + 808 bass. also used to take a lot of stick because back in the mid-late 90s it was an entry point for candy ravers.

i honestly should give the stuff a fair shake sometime, but it still puts me off in much the same way house with those patronizing "african" sung vocals does.
