this is the one i listen to least. will need to relisten but my impulse is "revolution".

The problem with choosing Revolution is that it,and Suicide,don't represent the album sound.

usually there's a clear winner or two for me in album polls but here i could go for just about any of these tracks. such a great album. voted honey.

This is the only Spacemen 3 album I have. Nice Bomp pressing.

You've heard their earlier albums, right? Because if not, you should.

Probably going to vote Revolution, predictably, but I always love how How Does it Feel? sounds like they're trying to cover a Basic Channel song at first. One of the really minimal ones obviously.

"Suicide" even if it's one of those songs that's even better live.

A lot of these songs sounded better live and in their various rerecordings as Spectrum/SPZ. But I wouldn't change a thing about "Honey" or "Come Down Softly To My Soul".

Going with Suicide. Mudhoney pretty much ruined "Revolution" for me, since I always start laughing now...

All great, went for I believe it as it feels like the backbone of the record.

I really should get some of the others ones. I just have this and the first couple of Spiritualized records (which I like).

What's the deal with fade outs in this record anyway?
It seems like some of the songs suddenly fade out like they didn't have a better idea how to finish.

And what is the sax solo in the Lord Can You Hear Me ending? Why the fade out?

why not fade out? maybe they didn't have any better ideas. so what? the fades are part of the charm of the album.

"How Does It Feel" with the lights out and a mind that's buzzin' = good times.

nothing, but the fades seems a little forced and maybe too early sometimes.

Kinda shocks me to read this side of the taste divide for some reason, as I think it's a fantastically cohesive record. I'm squarely in the "you're making me choose!?" camp.

Sonic mentions that he'd first got a bootleg copy of the Beach Boys' Smile sessions while they were recording this and that he'd listen to them on the drive into the studio. #2 key ingredient (according to him) was the Vox Starstreamer.

Fuck it. I can't pick. Basically my favourite album of all time.

PWF means as much to be as WL/WH.

the first writes better melodies than the latter.for the most part.
though Spectrum's production is better than Spiritulized imo

just downloaded this, never heard anything by them apart from that really long/great remix of 'Big City'. Question is...do I play it now or in an hour or so after I've smoked a joint?

I don't know if he writes better ones but he certainly writes more of them. Kember's basically recycled the same melodies for the past 25 years (part of what I love about Spectrum but I can see where people could find it tiresome).

Playing With Fire took a really long time to click for me. I feel like I'm still working out its vibrations.

Actually it's the other way around. "Dreamweapon" was recorded before PWF (but released after)
