because the hardcore tear da club up thugness of dirrty shits on the 'slinky' slave for u, i know neps are always consistent but rockwilder made the craziest oh shit beats of the last few years, fuck that horn funk live drummer game, remember the first time you heard meth/red - da rockwilder!! or de la - oooh!! and i still think he secretly produced smash sumthin and gave it to the dnb dude

or you can just talk about how dirrty needs a dj /rupture remix on the b side with insane gabba dancehall breaks!!

his remix of "get this party started" is inferior to the original in every way.

Neptunes produced that NORE record, right? Didn't much like that one. Rockwilder seems less formulaic. Then again maybe I have been overexposed to Neptunes...

"de la - oooh!"

see, you just fucked up yr argument there. and comparing dirrrty to slave is just disingenuous. try comparing to nore-full mode. it's over man. stop tryna be "individual"

"Oooh" was the shit (fuck yeah - "put your hands opposite to the ground if ya lovin' our sound!"), and so was "Da Rockwilder" (and "Let's Get Dirty", and "Get The Party Started/Sweet Dreams", and...), but seriously when was the last time Rockwilder did something lifechanging that didn't have Redman along for the ride? Also he should stay away from non-4/4 beats, as everytime he tries to diversify the results are a bit paltrey (cf. The Neptunes who tend to profit from going out on a limb).

Re: formula - his sick-disco sound is probably as formulaic as the Neptunes' funk, but his drum presets aren't as instantly recognisable. Still, I can always tell a Rockwilder squat-house beat from the first bar or so.

When I got the Bootylicious single I was like "a Rockwilder remix?? with MISSY????" and it was weak

However - I think he's able to do faster tempos better than anybody.

Tracer Hand (tracerhand), Monday, 14 October 2002 12:40 (twenty-two years ago)

i won't be swayed on "ooh". it's not my kind of party. nor de la's for that matter

bob zemko (bob), Monday, 14 October 2002 12:44 (twenty-two years ago)

and i'm still uncomfortable with accusations of a neptunes "formula", or at least how it's used against them. they have many many idiosyncracies and i'm not denying there are many many $$formula$$ neptunes productions but don't imply they're not creative when they want to be. try and download some of j-vince's forthcoming tracks as an example.
