Evel Knievel! Boss!

_Rudipherous_, Thursday, 12 December 2013 02:51 (eleven years ago)

It down to these, although I do like a bunch of the others:

Gladys Knight and The Pips - Midnight Train to Georgia
Stevie Wonder - Higher Ground
Daryl Hall and John Oates - She's Gone
The Isley Brothers - That Lady

I might have to go with Hall & Oates since that's one of my favorite songs ever ever ever.

_Rudipherous_, Thursday, 12 December 2013 02:56 (eleven years ago)

Marvin Gaye - Let's Get It On
Lynyrd Skynyrd - Free Bird
Iggy and The Stooges - Search and Destroy
New York Dolls - Personality Crisis
Aerosmith - Dream On
Stevie Wonder - Higher Ground
Slade - Cum On Feel the Noize
T. Rex - 20th Century Boy
Pink Floyd - Money
Grand Funk Railroad - We're an American Band
Sweet - Ballroom Blitz

The above would make a GREAT mix tape.

Going to go with "Search & Destroy." All the songs are great, but that one's great and important.

Loud guitars shit all over "Bette Davis Eyes" (NYCNative), Thursday, 12 December 2013 02:56 (eleven years ago)

The Wailers - Get Up, Stand Up AND I Shot the Sheriff
Stevie Wonder - Higher Ground
New York Dolls - Personality Crisis
T. Rex - 20th Century Boy
Billy Joel - Piano Man
Daryl Hall and John Oates - She's Gone
Roxy Music - Do the Strand
Sweet - Ballroom Blitz
The Isley Brothers - That Lady

Jolene

kornrulez6969, Thursday, 12 December 2013 04:24 (eleven years ago)

Just too many. But looking at this list, I still love "Jet", "Jolene", "She's Gone", "Ballroom Blitz", "Do The Strand". Along with most everything else here. And I hate it whenever "That Lady" comes on and it's the short version without Ernie's guitar lesson.

2 232 Ann Peebles - I Can't Stand the Rain
8 478 New York Dolls - Personality Crisis
26 1263 Wings - Live and Let Die

in that exact order

Dolly

paolo, Thursday, 12 December 2013 10:03 (eleven years ago)

'Solid Air' easily.

Austin, Thursday, 12 December 2013 17:03 (eleven years ago)

Freebird

Prince Kajuku (Bill Magill), Thursday, 12 December 2013 18:27 (eleven years ago)

Tempted by "Jolene" and "That Lady", but "Midnight Train to Georgia" is one of my all-time favorite songs, so there...

breastcrawl, Thursday, 12 December 2013 19:42 (eleven years ago)

does ILM even want me to do these threads anymore? based on the number of responses lately there doesn't seem to be the interest?

Bee OK, Friday, 13 December 2013 16:32 (eleven years ago)

Nah, keep em up! I tend to vote without posting a lot of the time, and I'm assuming that some others do as well.

"Midnight Train To Georgia," btw.

Not my favourite year--I like what comes right before and right after much better. A number of great singles I'm quite sick of. A few good ones by people who had better. My top two would be "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" (yeah, by any objective standard, he had better too--but I do love it, and I'm not sick of it) and "Personality Crisis."

clemenza, Saturday, 14 December 2013 03:43 (eleven years ago)

yeah Bee these are fun, keep it up!

g simmel, Saturday, 14 December 2013 11:29 (eleven years ago)

Even though I'm pretty much just waiting for the Who to show up (no "5.15"? the hell?), I really look forward to these lists. Definitely keep doing them!

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Saturday, 14 December 2013 12:48 (eleven years ago)

Difficult to choose between "Living For The City" (possibly my all-time favorite Stevie song) and "Freebird." Kinda want to throw a vote to "Drift Away"; such a beautiful song, and so underrated.

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Saturday, 14 December 2013 12:51 (eleven years ago)

yes, "Drift Away" is my vote. hoping it does well on the classic rock poll because at least in the atl it was a staple on that format

Euler, Saturday, 14 December 2013 19:16 (eleven years ago)
