Growing up in the 2000s with a dad who is a major Boss nut, I got to hear all of these albums on a very regular basis. Since his new album comes out in a couple of weeks, I thought it'd be a good time to review his past decade of music. Vote for your favourite.

Can't believe we haven't done this.

Wrecking Ball, narrowly over Magic

Like a handful of songs on each but don't really like any of them; "Magic" has probably the highest highs, I do like a few on Devils & Dust and plus that tour gave us the live "Dream Baby Dream".

Typical mangling by Brendan O'Brien aside, "Magic" is surprisingly great. I listen to a handful of its tracks pretty often and on the whole it's a fun and consistent listen with several interesting and unexpected musical detours taken.

"The Rising" is far too long and too overwrought by half,
the hick-Brooce accent (and liner-note glossary, ugh) is just more than I can take on "D&D", which I otherwise enjoy,
"Seeger Sessions" is actually a lot of fun and I listened to it a bunch at the time,
wanna like "Dream" so much more than I do but it's just crippled by a seriously bad songwriting problem,
have barely spent any time with "Wrecking Ball" but have actually enjoyed it quite a bit whenever I've put it on.

On the whole, it's been a pretty quality decade of music making from the guy, and I admire his dedication to the craft and his refusal to rest on his ample laurels.

after a decade in which he released very little new music, and looked like he might be headed toward a permanent slowdown, i both appreciate and admire how prolific he became after he turned 50. there are songs i like on all of them, and i'm glad they all exist, but i don't come close to liking any of 'em through and through. but i fully believe he still has great albums in him.

The Rising is docked 10,000 units for Waiting On A Sunny Day. My least favorite Bruce song, and I have a feeling it's many others too.

oh he's got plenty worse. but he doesn't play all those other ones every goddamned night.

Somewhat ashamed to admit that I love "Sunny Day"

Even if it does kinda compare unfavorably to the Sesame Street theme

For someone on that level 90s Bruce, for what it is, is a pretty weird era

COME ON UP FER A RISIN

The Rising as EP would've been awesome. "Radio Nowhere" is good. Pet Shop Boys vastly improved "Last to Die."

That's all I had to say.

I love, love, love The Rising, especially "Lonesome Day."

Seeger or magic.

The Rising by far, then Seeger.

Never got around to Devils or Dream. Of the rest, I think Wrecking Ball is the most pretty-good one from front to back.

I voted Seeger Sessions: it was my first real introduction to early folk music; I have strong memories of listening to it on holiday in Spain, watching the mountains as my dad painted the outside walls of the villa.

Interesting results; roughly where I'd have placed them (except for maybe swapping the top two). thanks for voting everyone and looking forward to the new album.
