underrated is an understatement here.
deserve as much love as Burrito Brothers and Byrds' Rodeo

this is a straight up masterpiece. up there with all the other early country-rock LPs you might care to name.
i passed on a chance to get this on LP the other day; it was a little scuffed. should i go back and buy it?

This reminded me to see if this was on Spotify (and it is). I've been meaning to hear this in full for a long time - it's terrific. Right up there with Dillard & Clark and Flying Burrito Brothers.

Will check this on Spotify, thanks---also, I heard some amazing harmonies from Byron Berline's Country Gazette on a Public Radio show from Nashville (think it's Bluegrass Block?) Country Gazette's early core members were Burritos for a while, then they kinda were the Burritos, after Hillman etc. left (for a while). Big ol' CG collection on Spotify too; will check it out. Anybody heard Breakfast Special? Rounder's digital of their apparently lone, eponymous album is still available, but not on Spotify. Worth buying?

Weren't this and another couple of lps compiled on a 2cd a year or 2 ago?It happened to be the one Dillards lp that turned up in my old local 2nd hand record shop which means its the only one I'm familiar with despite not having a physical copy since around '96. Do remember it having some great stuff on, notably Lemon Chimes.

just listening to the 1965 single of lemon chimes that was put out by capitol: much more folk-rockish & byrdsy than the album version (the wavering vocals on that always put me in mind of phil ochs' stuff from around the same time period)

Looks like the set I thought was a couple of years old is actually closer to 10 and subsequently possibly rising in price.Had these lps on Pickin' And Fiddlin' / Wheatstraw Suite / Copperfields
Came out as part of that Elektra sequence that had the last pre-remaster ISB titles in as well as a number of other 2fer sets if I'm thinking right, Tim Buckley's 1st 2 and Fred Neil's were also in the series.
