'maggie may'

These are all pretty great, but decided to go with "Maggie May", just for that glorious mandolin solo.

That image at the top just made me "get" (not that it's a joke per se) Thomas Dolby's stage name. It only took over three decades.

MM is one of the very very few classic rock staples of this era that's never even once sounded tired or overplayed to me, still sounds just as perfect -- weary, mournful, yet joyous -- as ever. that said i love almost everything on this list, even 'stairway.'

What a weird hit song! I can't imagine something this low-key and downcast getting any kind of play today. Clearly folks were in a much different state of mind in '71.

voting "Black Dog" which is funny to me. i hated Zeppelin growing up and never really gave them a chance. i finally decided to really give their albums a chance and see if they are in fact way overrated. well instead i became a fan and finally understood why they are who they are.
