literally everything about that - from the horrendous plural-generic bandname to the hideous pop-art cover to the shitty boring titles to the oh my fucking god calculated to indie fuck sloppabilly nonsense of that godforsaken fucking song - is borderline criminal and frankly fuck all y'all

if nothing else this band has provoked imago to coin the perfect and brilliant word "slopabilly" and for that they should be applauded

haven't yet heard this song that is driving imago to apoplectic rage, but i've loved all of their other albums so far.

good song. sounds like their version of Led Zep' Rock N roll. i like the overblown-messy instrumentation

i hope they will recover from their decline in quality with this record.

Eight songs from those sessions made the final cut for The Men's new LP for Sacred Bones, the tongue-in-cheek-but-still-auspiciously-titled Tomorrow's Hits. This is their first album recorded in a high-end studio and, appropriately, the result is their highest fidelity album to date. That being said, it is still an incredibly straightforward and concise record that nonetheless is full of genre-bending risks. The end result reinforces the overarching theme that has come to define its makers: The Men are a great rock band plain and simple.

I love these dudes and I will happily get this record. New Moon was one of my favorites of 2013.

I more or less enjoyed their first two or so albums but their live show was booooooring.

top tenned last year's album, looking forward to it despite the fuggly art

We're not exactly in a golden age for guitar bands, but these guys are one of the better ones around.

easier when there's not much of a competition

i was bored by the last 2 albums and by their live show but this is a lot of fun

i dug open your heart but the last one didn't hit the mark imo. feels like they're putting out stuff too frequently without the consistency to back that up. still i'll give it a listen

the album is their most unabashedly 70s buttrock kinda one yet and I dig it. interviewed one of the band before Christmas and he said that after this they were gonna stop the one-album-every-12-months-exactly thing and take a bit of a break

wtf a new album from these guys? i've barely had a chance to digest the last one. and the one before that is actually still fresh in my mind. probably appropriate that they keep churning 'em out, i guess; they are a rate-of-knots kinda band in everything they do, really.

after a couple of listens I don't...much care for it? Sounds like outtakes or B-sides. Last year's album was on my top ten.

funny, because New Moon was their weakest effort imo.
this one is their Exile, love the harsh, dirty production and the horns..

i like this, i think only the first and seventh songs didn't really do much for me, but this is the first one where their pace of output works against them. i think almost all of theses songs needed some more time in the woodshed.

I love this. Mine came with a "Live in Zagreb" cassette that is a really muddy, messy soundboard recording and it's great - I hope they keep doing everything they're doing.
