I did a search and the only relevant hit was about the "House On The Hill" (1971) album. If I missed a C/D thread, apologies.
I discovered these guys a few years ago when a friend of mine made me a copy of HOTH. I was blown away, couldn't believe I'd never heard of them, and promptly bought all four of their original albums on CD from amazon. Every one is chock full o' gems.
They're kind of proggy, and I am not a prog guy typically, but this is great, great stuff. Their guitarist, Howard Werth, played a nylon-string classical guitar with a pickup. He used, one assumes, a variety of effects to achieve electric rock guitar type sounds on many songs. The musicianship is fantastic across the board: great drumming, bass, keys, horns, vocals, guitar. Inventive arrangements, great songs, top-notch lyrics.
What's not to like? These guys ought to be better known/appreciated. Or is it just me that had never heard of them?
