I don't even have a dog in this fight any more, but really, this "oh stereotypes are just for funs" shit is what turned me off ~METAL~ and more specifically metal fans pretty much forever.

im not defending it soref but they are still metal stereotypes. metalheads like to poke fun at one another. They generally have a sense of humour (black metal types excepted of course)

Luso's Handy Guide to Metalheads
Since this has been coming up a lot lately:

-This is satire, not meant to offend;
-Most of these are male simply because most metalheads are male, that does not mean that a 'male' archetype cant be applied to a female metal fan.
-The female archetypes are portrayed as such because they are specifically female archetypes, non-applicable to males, and while they may seem 'insulting', they aren't meant to be any more insulting than any of the other ones, since i make fun of guys just as much as i make fun of girls.
-This is an ongoing series, and as thus, more archetypes are to come, females included, meaning that the female archetypes i come up with aren't all 'negative'

The female depictions made me wince too. The gothy one would have seemed more real if it hadnt had the "she's only here because her boyfriend is" thing.

It needs more of the original generation of metal fans, like old bikers into Motorhead.

I would have thought that humorless black metal fans are maybe a third or half of the devotees at the most. I'd say most BM fans did like fun.
