Love the song. (Not new actually)

It was briefly discussed

Has this been re-released somehow? This is epic. I'm excited. Yeah, single of the year, can't wait to hear it.

Yes and yes.

one month passes...
I saw the video yesterday. As pinnacles of all recorded music go, it's pretty good.

sixteen years pass...

WHATEVA!

I wonder what he's doing right now

Definitely one for the “Artists Songs that were once quite popular, yet nowadays are mostly ignored in canonical history books” thread.

I loved this song. saw it on some music-videos-in-the-middle-of-the-night thing while sleepless in Western Australia circa '03 I think, went out the next morning (Bunbury maybe?) to hunt down a copy of it. which I did. A CD single, to be perfectly frank about it. I feel like talking about chopping firewood and carrying it to my cabin which has no central heating because it hasn't been invented yet

speaking of which I am still waiting patently for Sifl & Olly's "Songs of Season 2" and I am beginning to worry that it won't happen

frogbs, Wednesday, 30 October 2019 12:24 (six years ago)

whatever.

Spotify indicates he has since released 13 more albums.

frogbs, Wednesday, 30 October 2019 13:07 (six years ago)

My 5-year-old was so into this song at one point that i went on a hunt for other kid-friendly punk songs, but I couldn't turn up anything that got the same reaction.

enochroot, Wednesday, 30 October 2019 13:15 (six years ago)

I still think about this song every week or so

still basically the catchiest song ever written

frogbs, Wednesday, 30 October 2019 17:27 (six years ago)

I actually loved all the "fake songs" on that album, especially the fake pixies song and fake bjork song:

(but agree that 'whatever' was in a league of its own)

enochroot, Wednesday, 30 October 2019 18:35 (six years ago)

man, my buddies and i used to listen to 'fake songs' so much when we were in 9th grade. i haven't heard any of these songs in years even though i still use 'zafo' as my username for my admin accounts at work.

dynamicinterface, Wednesday, 30 October 2019 21:48 (six years ago)

nice!!! I still use "Jargon Scott" sometimes

frogbs, Wednesday, 30 October 2019 22:01 (six years ago)

Still comfortably one of my all time favourite singles. Supposedly he was making much of it up as he went along.
