btw what I really started this thread to talk about: song with obviously shitty lyrics that you hear ppl irl do shitty weak tired standup routine analyses of the shitty lyrics like they're the 1st ppl to notice that the lyrics are dumb, ie the "Ironic" phenomenon

Oh, sorry. I didn't realise this wasn't about the actual song, because I genuinely 100% love this track and I'll spare you my Travis story.

(I don't think the lyrics are dumb at all; he means them quite literally.)

I think it was Steven Wells(RIP) who first posited that it rained on him because he was a fucking tosser. Context is everything because it was very amusing at the time and Swells was such a funny writer.
