Lots of goodies: Undisputed Truth, Bill Withers,Freda Payne, Moments, Norman Greenbaum, Lynn Anderson, Chairmen, Chi-Lites and I'll always love Bread's singles from the early 70's. But ended up voting for James Taylor.

"Rose Garden" was a major international hit. So cool to see the British kids dancing to it on this Top of the Pops clip:

Oh my god, it has to be Spirit In The Sky, that is just such a deeply odd and strange song, I love it to bits.

That bit in "Fire and Rain" about Suzanne and "the plans they made" makes me want to curl up in a ball and cry. After all this time. Much respect.

"Rose Garden" is so redolent...for someone who traveled a lot as a kid. It's funny what grabs you.

The way the acoustic guitar comes in at 0:07 - can you imagine Shocking Blue doing it???

Tyrone Davis! Great song. Between this and Freda for me. Might just vote for Tyrone cos it sounds like no one else will.

My vote will probably go to "Ain't No Sunshine", though making a choice for this poll was a very tough call. Forgot to mention this earlier but I feel that "Signs" also deserves an honorable mention here. I didn't know of it until hearing the Fatboy Slim track which samples it but it's actually a pretty great piece of 70s rock that unfortunately will probably go overlooked in this poll (thinking of voting for it instead).
