lol, i almost did that album instead. trying not to vote for a single here but is hard not to.

it's zero, zero was basically the best song of 2009

prefer "Off With Your Head," now an eternal karaoke jam, but "Dull Life" and "Zero" and "Little Shadow" rule. Their best album.

I don't even need to think about this one: 'Dragon Queen'.

And to date, this is pretty much the only album of theirs I care about. Their last one was just the pits.

"Heads Will Roll", but I have a soft spot for "Hysteric", "Dull Life", "Soft Shock", and basically most of the record.

As others have mentioned, it was dismaying to see how much of a backward step their last LP was.

Hysteric but there's loads of contenders. Whole album packs such an emotional punch and the production is so great.

"Zero" was a startling righteous stadium anthem at FYF last year. Have to think about this.

"hysteric" is the equiv of "maps", the decent but overrated ballad because you're all horribly sentimental. fuck yo feelings give me fierceness so i'll go with "dull life" with "heads will roll" and "dragon queen" close behind

re: the debut, i still have no idea how/why anyone prefers "maps" to the incredible "date with the night"

the ballads are best on their second album tho!

Zero > Heads Will Roll is an incredible opening pair, Zero throws you up in the air then Heads Will Roll pitches you into the distance. I can't imagine not loving both of them.

I hate the high-sheen shouty brashness of both those opening songs, makes me think of Republica or Transvision Vamp. I'm cool with it from that point on though. Voted Hysteric.

Heh, this is the exact opposite of how I feel about these two songs. I wasn't a fan of YYYs (bar a couple of songs) when 'Zero' came out and was surprised how much I liked it.

This is a fantastically well-sequenced album. The opening one-two is really strong, but I think the last couple of songs are equally well put together. 'Hysteric'/'Little Shadow' are great examples of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' softer side. Voted 'Hysteric'.

The last album sucked. Sorry but it did. I was so sad about that too because they're probably my favorite current band. I'm just gonna pretend that last one never happened and focus on how awesome It's Blitz was.

That second verse on Zero would sound awesome with a more booming sound.

I treat this album like a compilation of three separate EPs and the second ("Dull Life", "Shame and Fortune", "Runaway") is my favorite. I've probably played those three songs (and "Dragon Queen") more than the rest of the album combined.

I'm going with Soft Shock. Little Shadow would be my second choice but this album really is great all the way through. By far my favourite album of theirs.

Agree that it was sad how much the last album sucked. They got better with each album up until that one.

Listened to this a while back ago, and really appreciated the mastering on this, didn't feel like it was trying to blast my ears off by compression. Although, I feel Zero could have benefited from a bit more "loudness".

Zero has such a great video. I never get tired of this song.

Remains the moment when they got everything right.

Just listened to this album last week. It's a classic.

yeah this is straight-up classic, even the ones that got no votes in this poll are very solid. i have a weak spot for hysteric, especially the drop-dead gorgeous acoustic version.
