so worried that they actually changed it from a Tony Iommi album to a Black Sabbath album

Kinda the inverse of the thread premise. MCA hedging their bets with a sticker in case that familiar-looking font was too subtle.

Are there many bands where two of their ex-members aren't sure if you remember they used to be in them?

just in case you weren't quite sure as to the roots of this band ..

that's such an awesome record cover, better than the covers for any of the actual Madness albums. I like the back as well

I preferred Earthbyrd and Waterbyrd, personally.

emil.y, Thursday, 27 March 2014 19:25 (twelve years ago)

this is a bit different but some of the covers from Suggs' 90s comeback period attempt to re-do the peak Madness nutty thing, but with a 30 something Suggs on his own and it just looks a bit melancholy

I really like that landscape

soref, Thursday, 27 March 2014 19:32 (twelve years ago)

Like the Brian Johnson album above, this one relies on the old band logo's distinctive font to drive home the connection. (there's alot more of these i can't think of now)

He actually toured (and recorded?) as Arthur Lee & Love in his final-ish days, though.

Montgomery Burns' Jazz (Tarfumes The Escape Goat), Thursday, 27 March 2014 20:14 (twelve years ago)

never seen that suggs cover !

but yes, thats far more suitable re this thread

mark e, Thursday, 27 March 2014 20:15 (twelve years ago)

xp - yes and yes, though Love became whoever happened to be in Lee's backing band at the time, few/none that were in the original lineups

Lee626, Thursday, 27 March 2014 20:41 (twelve years ago)

the Love lineup was approx 1,000,000x more consistent from 1993-2006 than from 1965-78 tbrr
