been calling this the like clockwork of this year because it's a great rock record somehow smuggled into 2014. appeal of the album is really anchored in the guitar tone, which is mammoth, and is apparently 5-10 guitar/amp setups layered to resemble a revolving and oceanic dark; expect a lot of comparisons to mbv, though the effect married to this particular songwriting comes off more catherine wheel. this is probably their best record even though i really love their 2009 album mean everything to nothing, when i thought they were one of the few bands that successfully absorbed keep it like a secret.

Could swear there was a thread on The Millions Masks of God? Anyway, revisiting this and it's awesome. I don't see it in any EOTY lists. So maybe no one cares. Or was it robbed? Who will know.
