Had a CD-R of this, so I never realized how weak the album cover was until just now. Love this album, though.

it's between the 1st 2 for me, Deceptacon is so goddamn amazing but Hot Topic is great too

I remember exactly where I was (driving to Portland) when I first heard Deceptacon on the radio

what a great album, so hard to choose. listening to it now i can hear it laying out paths that would be charted by the next 10 years of music.

i remember buying this album the week it came out like it was yesterday, scanning through the lyrics sheet for hot topic and judging them for what they mentioned and imagining them judging me. i was too young then to hear the proto-portlandia malaise in that dry litany of names. like when this album came out it was still valid to ask the question "what does this mean for the future of *riot*".

You know, somehow I have never owned this album, but still seem to know all of the songs on this!

Now I really really want to listen to it, to make up my mind, but... still don't own it.

They were still probably the most nicest that anyone has ever been to their support band, in my experience.

I am going to a fundraising thing tonight at the venue I saw them play in 2000 and was thinking about that show ever. Man, it was amazing.

deceptacon was played probably 12 times at each and every college party i went to, i'd be happy never to hear it again

(Aside to ENBB: actually I was roadie-ing for a band that supported them. Kathleen actually came up to our dressing room before the show with this HUUUGE plate of food and goodies and said "they've given us way more catering than we are ever going to eat - we thought you might want some of it!" and gave us all this food and then wished everybody good luck and she was really, really super-nice. We were all kinda stunned because we were really starstruck.)
