Well it's more of a personal list and as I've stated previously I'm not that well fed on hip hop. Sorry for misrepresenting the genre. At any rate here's the 10 hiphop albums I remember listening to the most in the 00s:

Also metal is misrepresented but I also bought and loved all the records released by Om, Sunn o)) and Boris through the decade. Dopethrone is the one I keep coming back to, though.

Considering 3 of my all time favourite albums - Discovery, Sung Tongs and Dopthrone - I don't have an answer for this one.

I don't have that particular Twinsistermoon record, but the Natural Snow Buildings reissues and their solo stuff has been pretty much my favourite music of the last couple of years.

would've gone for The Drift. in its absence, either Stars of the Lid or Electric Wizard

I know I'm one of the big archetypal herbs on ILX (lots of self regard there) but Madvillainy is still all time top 5 for me

I still love that Panda Bear record but it's got to be Paavoharju.

still don't understand the love for that PB record. the records he did either side were glorious though, especially Tomboy.

The Drift is an important omission! Its production values are off the roof. I apologize for the exclusion, future revised versions of this list should include it.

The Annie one for me, didn't realise it was a 2005 release due me first hearing it 06/07. That Shed album is still awesome as well.

listening to Paavoharju for the first time. not what i was expecting, but very intriguing!

Not a lot of people heard the Annie album but those who did all... voted for it every year afterwards in the ILM big poll.

Heartbeat is the stuff of magic, no doubt about it. can't remember much else about that album even though i played it a bunch of times.

It would have easily been Isolee if it wasn't easily Clientele for me.
