RFI: Xavier, the ridiculously awesome early 80s disco/funk dude

I seriously love this guy. Sparked off by this video:

So many golden moments: the opening 10 seconds with the wacked-out bassline to Xavier awkwardly looking up, pointing and smiling all eerie. The constant looks to the wrong camera. The ring not going on the 4th finger properly. The unsexy gobbling of a strawberry from a wine glass. The no-budget 1920s grand hotel concept. The way it's kinda played for laughs but not really. Xavier doing you like this, doing like THAT. His winning smile after announcing he's 'the X!'.

It's all hilariously brilliant but also brilliantly brilliant and I can't find anything about the guy other than he had an album called 'Point Of Pleasure' in 1982. He's cut from the same cloth as Rick James, totally up there in my book. Anyone know anything about him? If he still sings or worked on any other music? Guy is made out of pure charisma, hard to believe he just dropped off the map.

Real tight musicianship too. This one sounds like more-reigned-in Funkadelic:

And his slow jams are up there with the best of them:
