This may be the lp in my collection that I've owned the longest, had it since I was at most 5yo.

How dare you tarnish the reputation of Turturro's yodel (Shakey Mo Collier), Monday, 28 April 2014 02:19 (eleven years ago)

I got it when I was 4. But I got A Night At The Opera at xmas 75 when I was a month shy of 3.

We had this on 8-track, got a ton of steady play in our household, my sister eventually digitized it and the burned CD version has continued to be a treasure. Hard for me to separate my vote from the ones I remember my mother singing (Cottleston Pie, Halfway Down The Stairs). I find myself making reference to the Muppaphone more often than would seem necessary, and while "Lydia" may be a Groucho number, it's much more fun to sing in Kermit impression ("the queen of tat-TOOoo"). "Mahna Mahna" or "Being Green" will probably (and fairly) get a bunch of the votes, so in a way I want to vote for one of Scooter's pleasant if inessential 'upbeat fun' numbers. (See also: "Happiness Hotel" from The Great Muppet Caper, and of course "Can You Picture That?" from The Muppet Movie.)

I don't remember if it was a gradual dawning or if Tit Willow always brought to mind boobs.

I don't know which two horses Blount means but Robin's performance of "Halfway Down the Stairs" is one of the best things ever on TV

Not a song but I'm voting for Veterinarian's Hospital because that was always my favorite part of The Muppet Show.

I remember loving the performance of Simon Smith & His Dancing Bear but it kinda pales as a song. you need all of Fozzy's mugging for the camera for it to get the vote

Tenderly is awesome fyi, makes me feel like a little kid again.

set the controls for the heart of the sun (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 28 April 2014 17:38 (eleven years ago)

hugga mugga is on the german version.

The french version (sorry can't do links from my phone) has some odd titles (Wanda, charlie parker)

I remember loving the performance of Simon Smith & His Dancing Bear but it kinda pales as a song.

it's...an incredible song and a more complex lyric than anything else on the list except maybe "Halfway Down the Stairs," imo

They'll love us, won't they?
They feed us, don't they?

Simon Smith is a fun song, the Muppets arrangement is fairly faithful to the Randy Newman original. Love the song, but I think I would vote for a Muppets original.

Simon Smith was robbed..

Mark G, Wednesday, 7 May 2014 08:16 (eleven years ago)

Mine was the lone vote for "Mississippi Mud", although the obvious best choice is 'all of the above'. I could probably vocally replicate this entire album front-to-back from memory.

Surprise, It's My Butt (Old Lunch), Wednesday, 7 May 2014 11:27 (eleven years ago)

ditto.
I voted for the Muppaphone but Mississippi Mud entered my mind for a second as a contender.

Max Florian, Wednesday, 7 May 2014 12:24 (eleven years ago)

Was tempted even to vote for the ''Good grief, the comedian's a bear!'' bit.
