I was shocked to learn last year that "How Much is Enough" hit the American top forty in '91.

"One Thing" is pretty undeniable, but I really, really love "Stand or Fall" and "Deeper and Deeper."

red skies has a sky-high 80s cool-factor.

I love that Rupert Hine sound with the guitars compressed and chorused within an inch of their lives.

Saved By Zero, still has this epic otherworldly vibe.

I was just listening to their work outside the singles and decided not much else was worth my time.

That sound holds up very well today, way more than lots of other stuff from the early 80's. Very crisp and punchy. Kind of hear their influence in The 1975, for example.

Glad to see "Red Skies" getting some love, I thought that was kinda forgotten. I really loved the whole debut at the time, haven't listened to it in ages though.

yessss.. i love the instrumental mix of "reach the beach" for this reason, killer drums and gorgeous liquid guitar.

Some of the Fixx played on Private Dancer, notably on "Better Be Good to Me."

The Fixx dominated early MTV. Their videos were on constantly.

Underrated new wave band

Picked up _Ink_ the other day for $5. Missed it on its 1991 release. Overall, feels like they sanded down the lyrics and music for wider appeal, MOR radio pop/rock. “Climb the Hill” and “One Jungle” have their old special edge, though. Happy to add it to the stacks.

One of those single actually scraped the AT40.
