Voting for Fall Out Boy, but this is really the era of modern rock radio where I got completely off the bus. No idea about most of these.

underrated aerobies I have flung (how's life), Friday, 6 June 2014 10:57 (eleven years ago)

My top five:

Muse – "Starlight"
Fall Out Boy – "Dance, Dance"
Weezer – "(If You're Wondering If I Want You To) I Want You To"
Linkin Park – "Bleed It Out"
Linkin Park – "Shadow of the Day"

But yeah, other than these I'd probably only salvage about 3 more songs from this whole line-up

Tool strike back with another 7-minute-long #2 hit (which would have debuted at #1 had it not been released two weeks after "Dani California")

Frontier Psychiatrist, Friday, 6 June 2014 12:15 (eleven years ago)

QOTSA but I don't know most of these.

macklin' rosie (crüt), Friday, 6 June 2014 12:44 (eleven years ago)

Me too

kornrulez6969, Friday, 6 June 2014 12:52 (eleven years ago)

"No Way Back" is v underrated, one of the best Foo Fighters songs

some dude, Friday, 6 June 2014 13:21 (eleven years ago)

"Bleed It Out" and "Dance Dance" and "I Want You Too" all big favorites also. I even like the 311 song!

some dude, Friday, 6 June 2014 13:23 (eleven years ago)

Only know a couple of these but the Blue October song is such a pile. I couldn't write a worse parody of sensitive grunge

Vinnie, Friday, 6 June 2014 13:24 (eleven years ago)

Also this is the first I realized that Apocalyptica was not just a Metallica cover band

Vinnie, Friday, 6 June 2014 13:25 (eleven years ago)

Muse.

Even more than the last poll, this chart scrapes the bottom of the barrel of nu metal and lame hard rock.

LimbsKing, Friday, 6 June 2014 13:38 (eleven years ago)

Dire. I was seriously considering voting for Linkin Park before voting for Fall Out Boy. Just dire.

voodoo chili, Friday, 6 June 2014 13:45 (eleven years ago)

"Starlight" as it might be the only good song on here.

Bee OK, Friday, 6 June 2014 15:31 (eleven years ago)

Surprisingly, Linkin Park actually have one of the least heavy-sounding songs ("Shadow of the Day", one of their more underrated singles imo) from this entire list, which contains an awful lot of forgettable post-grunge/hard rock records (worst offender: Crossfade [???]'s "Cold", which recalls memories of "Lips of an Angel" and other bad rock power ballads from this era)

Frontier Psychiatrist, Friday, 6 June 2014 15:58 (eleven years ago)

I haven't heard anything from this era of Tool. Maybe I'll go pick up the album today. The last poll already got me to re-buy Ænima and Lateralus.

jmm, Friday, 6 June 2014 17:19 (eleven years ago)

do not know a single one of these songs by name :/

riot grillz (contenderizer), Friday, 6 June 2014 17:42 (eleven years ago)

I cant stand I Want You Too. This list has prob some of my least favorite songs ever, but man that song burrows deep down into my soul to inspire some hatred...

nova ydal (Drugs A. Money), Friday, 6 June 2014 17:44 (eleven years ago)

Anyways this is QOTSA vs. Offspring for me

nova ydal (Drugs A. Money), Friday, 6 June 2014 17:45 (eleven years ago)

oh christ i would hear crossfade's "cold" every day at my first job, still associate it with mopping floors

the worst song

emo canon in twee major (BradNelson), Friday, 6 June 2014 20:01 (eleven years ago)

fob easily

emo canon in twee major (BradNelson), Friday, 6 June 2014 20:01 (eleven years ago)

Yeah that Crossfade is another terrible one

nova ydal (Drugs A. Money), Friday, 6 June 2014 20:11 (eleven years ago)

Cant recall that Three Days Grace song but am thinking a JoJo cover would go some ways towards redeeming them in my eyes

nova ydal (Drugs A. Money), Friday, 6 June 2014 20:20 (eleven years ago)

First time in this series where I'm not compelled to vote for anything.

Funk autocorrect (cryptosicko), Friday, 6 June 2014 22:31 (eleven years ago)

lol

"Black holes and revelations"

Bee OK, Saturday, 7 June 2014 01:41 (eleven years ago)

Starlight. I sense that I am in a minority on ILM but I fucking love Muse. I wish more people here loved them, I'd love to do a Muse artists' poll one day.

Sandy, Saturday, 7 June 2014 04:31 (eleven years ago)

"Starlight" is my favorite song in the ballot but I assumed that it would already get a decent amount of supporters and ended up throwing in a pity vote for "Shadow of the Day"

Frontier Psychiatrist, Sunday, 8 June 2014 05:29 (eleven years ago)

Weezer over QOTSA by a hair.

maura, Sunday, 8 June 2014 16:59 (eleven years ago)

("Dance Dance" is one of my least favorite FOB songs although I like the bridge a lot)

maura, Sunday, 8 June 2014 16:59 (eleven years ago)

Starlight. The only Muse-song I like.

Frederik B, Sunday, 8 June 2014 17:03 (eleven years ago)

I like that Muse song! I didn't even know that was its name. I dont quite like it as much as "Little Sister" or "Hammerhead" tho; "Knights of Cydonia" would have had a better shot tbh.

(Same goes for FOB and "I'm Like a Lawyer" btw)

nova ydal (Drugs A. Money), Sunday, 8 June 2014 18:38 (eleven years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll is closing tomorrow.

System, Monday, 9 June 2014 00:01 (eleven years ago)

'Starlight', which reminds me of Midge Ure-era Ultravox for some strange reason?

Toni Braxton-Hicks (Turrican), Monday, 9 June 2014 07:20 (eleven years ago)

Automatic thread bump. This poll's results are now in.

System, Tuesday, 10 June 2014 00:01 (eleven years ago)

Sandy, you really should do the Muse poll or even an album poll to gauge interest. Origin of Symmetry is my favorite.
