Panic Station > Sing > These Days > oof hate almost everything else

Probably an even less familiar selection than the last poll, half of these are just follow-ups to #1s by indie pop acts. Voted for Young the Giant, followed by MCR, Foo Fighters, Muse, and maybe Grouplove, then we can throw out pretty much all the rest. Really only hoping that Lorde doesn't sweep this tbh.

much as that seems like resignation i've really enjoyed every grouplove single so far, look forward to what they'll do in the future

Find it hard to believe bands like Arctic Monkeys, the Strokes, Bloc Party, White Stripes are not found anywhere in here since most of the 'highschool' bands in my country seem fixated on covering their songs for the most part.

Or maybe they're all there on #1?

Also no Franz Ferdinand, Kings of Leon or the Killers!? I sincerely thought they were more famous in the states.

Moka, Tuesday, 10 June 2014 07:33 (ten years ago) link

Kings of Leon, The Killers, The White Stripes and just recently the Arctic Monkeys all hit #1, and the Strokes and Franz Ferdinand have also had top ten hits - their singles are all just scattered in positions other than #2. Bloc Party on the other hand never really reached that level of US popularity, they've only gotten as high as #24 on this chart

Little black submarines. It's their stairway to heaven.

"Team" is badass is all I know, very melodious

nova, Wednesday, 11 June 2014 21:50 (ten years ago) link

I'm okay with Lorde in general but I don't care much for "Team" - the way she throws in "...so there" as a rhyme in the chorus really, really irritates me when it comes on the radio (I dig the intro, though!)

Pretty sure the Foo Fighters is the only one of these I've ever heard, so

Disagree. And im not into firey solos chief. (Phil D.), Thursday, 12 June 2014 13:15 (ten years ago) link
