I have long been a fan of the Guardian Guide's terse and sometimes gnomic 3-word descriptions for the live music listings. A fun game for a Friday afternoon: try to match the artist with the description. Some are easy. Some are so (almost laudably) vague as to be devilish. (Or, alternately, quote the funniest, most mystifying, or most pithy short gig listings description of an artist that you've seen, in the Guide, or any other listings.)

the tv guide of (some paper or other) used to have one-sentence descriptions of movies that didn't tell you anything about the film at all. One I remember was FILM: The Jungle Book. A young boy befriends a wolf.(1967)

FILM: The Lion King. The lion is a king. (1994)
