Groove Jazz

May be 20 years ago, my friends and I listened a kind of music we called Groove Jazz.
The music we heared seemed like the titlesong of the US-TV Criminalfilm The Streets of San Francisco.
If anybody knows the name of the artist, which created this title-song or some simmilar jazz, please let me know it.
